A sales first CRM built around the pipeline, popular with UK small sales teams

What is Pipedrive?

Pipedrive is the CRM for teams that want to sell, not administer software. It was built by salespeople frustrated with bloated systems, and the whole product is organised around the visual pipeline: deals move through stages you can see and drag, and the software nudges you toward the next action. That focus is its identity and the reason to choose it or not.

What it does well

The pipeline view is the best in the category for pure sales. A rep opens Pipedrive and immediately sees what to do next, which deals are stalling and where the month stands. Adoption is high precisely because it does not ask salespeople to become data entry clerks.

It is quick to set up and quick to use. A small team can be running properly within a day, without a consultant, which is a sharp contrast to the enterprise platforms. Automation of routine steps, email sync and activity reminders all work without configuration headaches.

Per seat pricing is transparent and affordable, starting around fourteen pounds per seat on the entry tier billed annually and scaling by capability rather than by hidden add ons at the lower end.

Where it falls short

It is a sales CRM, not a platform. Marketing automation, service ticketing and deep customer support features are lighter or absent, and the add ons that fill those gaps stack up in cost. If you want one system for marketing, sales and service, HubSpot fits better.

Reporting and analytics, while improved, are less powerful than the enterprise tools, and very large or complex sales operations will find the ceiling.

The cheapest tier is genuinely basic, so most teams settle on the middle tiers, which is where the real price sits.

The UK detail that matters

Pipedrive serves UK sales teams widely with EU data hosting and GDPR aligned contact handling. As a CRM rather than an accounting tool, the UK considerations are data protection and integration with your UK finance stack rather than HMRC compliance. Prices are commonly shown per seat and exclude VAT, and there is a free trial.

Who should buy it

UK small and mid sized sales teams that want a focused, affordable, easy to adopt CRM built around the pipeline. Businesses wanting marketing and service in the same platform should look at HubSpot or Zoho instead.
