Fine for a simple payroll

The pay run is forgiving for someone who is not a payroll specialist. One supplier for accounts and payroll keeps the audit trail simple.

Pros

The pay run is forgiving for someone who is not a payroll specialist.

Cons

Corrections to a past period are more awkward than they should be.

Auto enrolment just works

Running payroll inside the same product means no journal to key by hand. Auto enrolment assessment happens each period without me chasing it.

Pros

Running payroll inside the same product means no journal to key by hand.

Cons

Depth runs out fast if your payroll is anything but straightforward.

Add the cost before you compare

Not something a payroll bureau should be looking at, and corrections to a past period are more awkward than they should be. Auto enrolment assessment happens each period without me chasing it, which is about the only positive.

Pros

Auto enrolment assessment happens each period without me chasing it.

Cons

Not something a payroll bureau should be looking at.

Pros

Cons

It is a paid add on, so compare the real total against Xero and Sage.

Mixed. Payslips self serve so the team stopped emailing me for copies, but not something a payroll bureau should be looking at.

Does the basics well

Payslips self serve so the team stopped emailing me for copies. That said, CIS sits in the accounting side, which confused us at first and depth runs out fast if your payroll is anything but straightforward.
